全真道北五祖之一，为第一祖。姓王讳诚，字玄甫，号少阳，又号东华子。系天仙东王公所降生，故亦称为东华帝君，生于战国时。据《金莲正宗记》云：东华帝君生有奇表，幼慕真风，白云上真见而爱之，曰：“天上谪仙人也”。乃引之入道，授以青符玉篆，金科灵文，大丹秘诀，周天火候，青龙剑法。东华得之，拳拳服膺，三年精心，尽得其妙。遂隐居於昆仑山烟霞洞，结草庵以自居，额曰“东华观”。度门人正阳子钟离云房，嗣法弘教。元世祖至元六年正月诏封其圣号为“东华紫府少阳帝君”。后元武宗又加封为“东华紫府辅元立极大道帝君”。

In the Quan Zhen Order of Taoism, the first generation of the Northern Five Masters was Wang Xuan Fu (王玄甫). Legend has it that he was given birth by a deity called Dong Wang Gong (东王公) in Zhan Guo Period (战国时代). According to some literature, Wang Xuan Fu was born with noble appearance and he had good moral values since youth. When Bai Yun Shang Zhen (白云上真) spotted this man, he thought he had god-sent qualities and would like to convert him to Taoism. He taught him talismans, Taoism languages, internal and external alchemy, as well as Qing Long swordplay. Dong Hua Di Jun used three years and ended up realizing all the essence. Later, he moved to Kun Lun Mountain（昆仑山）Yan Xia Cave (烟霞洞), built a thatched hut and lived there. He put up a plaque in his residence, written “Dong Hua Guan” (东华观). He was honoured in Yuan Dynasty by Emperor Shi Zu（元世祖）as “Dong Hua Zi Fu Shao Yang Di Jun” (东华紫府少阳帝君) and by Emperor Wu Zong（元武宗）as “Dong Hua Zi Fu Fu Yuan Li Ji Da Dao Di Jun” (东华紫府辅元立极大道帝君).

志心皈命礼
紫府洞天，青阳化炁。掌握诸仙之籍，开阐法门之始。撰着黄庭与道德经，相为表里；提衡阆苑佐神宝君，秘以维持。青云结盖，紫炁联城。大悲大愿，大圣大慈。青阳起派，紫府东华帝君，辅元立极天尊。
